Jamesville Middle School
In an effort to keep you informed of the status on the proposed closing of Jamesville Middle, I will post the most recent developments here for your edification. At the February Board of Education Meeting, the Board charged Mr. Melchiorre with doing a study on all viable options regarding the future of our school. Mr. Melchiorre has completed the study and arrived at four options for our Board members to consider. The options are as follows:
- At the beginning of the 2014-15 school year, all Jamesville Middle students will move to Riverside Middle and form 1 middle school in the same manner as was done with Jamesville High School and Williamston High School four years ago.
- At the beginning of the 2014-15 school year, move Jamesville Middle back to Jamesville Elementary school for the formation of a K - 8 school where all students will be housed in the current Jamesville Elementary building.
- At the beginning of the 2014-15 school year, move the 6th grade back to Jamesville Elementary creating a K - 6 school on that site and move 7th and 8th grade students to Riverside Middle school.
- The final option would be to do nothing and keep JMS in its current configuration until student population drops below 100 students and then do something at that time.
This information has been presented to the Board of Education for its consideration. No decision has been made at this time.
We are moving to a new website. Please follow this link to get there. It will take us just a little while to get it in order but, you can find info for our school here.

Our Fearless and Wonderful Bullet Staff
Welcome to the web site of the Jamesville Middle School Bullets where we strive to provide Excellence Everyday for Every Student. Our site is designed to keep the parents and friends of JMS informed about the happenings in our school and to provide a portal for two-way communication between our staff and the community, parents and families of the students we serve on a daily basis. We will strive to keep the latest information about our school posted in order that you may know what is happening at our school. Our new web site has the ability to host online classrooms with automatically graded quizzes, online grade book, parent logins that will allow parents to see the student's classes, grades and email accounts, and many other features.
Jamesville has a rich tradition of excellence in academics, athletics and the arts. We will strive to maintain and enhance that reputation this school year and will provide your student with an outstanding education that will prepare them for high school and prepare them to deal with the pressures of life in a positive and successful manner. While school is primarily about academics, we must also teach our students how to be successful in life by teaching them to make good choices and resist those things that will harm one’s ability to be successful, healthy and safe. This is the guiding principle behind our motto, Excellence Everyday for Every Student. We want our students to exhibit and experience nothing less than excellence in all aspects of their lives. We ask that you join us in our endeavor to provide your student with a world-class education that will prepare them for life in the 21st century.
Thanks for stopping by our web site and we ask that you check in on regular basis to keep up with the things that are happening in our school. Feel free to contact us with concerns, suggestions or just to say hello. Also, feel free to stop by the school in person because we always welcome the families of the students we serve.
